Dearest Rogue

Blurb

HE CAN GUARD HER

Lady Phoebe Batten is pretty, vivacious, and yearning for a social life befitting the sister of a powerful duke. But because she is almost completely blind, her overprotective brother insists that she have an armed bodyguard by her side at all times-the very irritating Captain Trevillion.

FROM EVERY DANGER

Captain James Trevillion is proud, brooding, and cursed with a leg injury from his service in the King's dragoons. Yet he can still shoot and ride like the devil, so watching over the distracting Lady Phoebe should be no problem at all-until she's targeted by kidnappers.

BUT PASSION ITSELF

Caught in a deadly web of deceit, James must risk life and limb to save his charge from the lowest of cads-one who would force Lady Phoebe into a loveless marriage. But while they're confined to close quarters for her safekeeping, Phoebe begins to see the tender man beneath the soldier's hard exterior . . . and the possibility of a life-and love-she never imagined possible.

Review

This was simply an amazing story of love and intrigue. One woman's fight to prove that being blind did not make her, and the one man who saw her for who she was. But what do you do when society dictates that they can't be together, and will their love for each other be enough to keep her safe when danger lurks around the corner? I absolutely loved this story, was every thing a historical romance should be, love struggle, and a bit of daring. Phoebe is the type of woman we strive to be and James is the type of man we all dream of. I highly recommend this book to all historical romance lovers out there.

The Remmingtons: Love on the Record

Blurb

For NYPD detective Griffin Sark, it’s lust at first sight when fashion reporter Tessa Ramirez crashes into his life. But she’s also featuring him in a puff piece that he hates from the moment he first hears about it, and criticizing a woman’s job is never a great way to land a date. Opposites attract, wills clash and hearts (eventually) melt in this standalone romance.

Review

While this is a contemporary romance, it is definitely out of the normal for Zoe York. Where most of her novels (SEALs books not withstanding) are based in Canada, this novella takes place in NYC. However, that does not retract from the level of amazing that is this story. I absolutely loved this story, and really hope we hear more about this group in future books. I especially hope to find out about Daniel's, Griffen's partner, story. This was just one of many stories in this collection. Be sure to read them all as each is a wonderful story taking place in the same place.

The Remmingtons: Love Me, Love Me Not

Blurb

For Daisy Dickson, The Daisy Chain is more than just her namesake—it’s her entire life. Running a successful business has consumed her focus for years; especially since a major development company has started buying up her neighborhood, threatening her existence.
The last thing she needs is a man—even one as hot as Ben Wallace with a smile that just won’t quit and sexy dark eyes that see right through her defenses. Surely one coffee won’t hurt? And it might just be the distraction she needs to take her mind off her problems.
But when one date turns into two and a connection stronger than either of them ever expected, the reality of their lives and who they are, threatens to destroy everything—and this time there’s more than just their hearts at stake.

Review

This is my first time reading this author and I really loved the story. She really put a lot of emotion into it and made you feel as if you were right there experiencing everything with them. I really loved the couple in this story, I think that this novella fits right in to the Remmingtons from what I've read of the others so far.

Blurb

Enduring the ultimate betrayal on her eighteenth birthday by the one person she loves most in the world, Mia Walker is no longer the innocent, sweet, young woman she used to be. She is now cold and hard, letting no one get close to her heart, except family.

Mackai (Mac) Weston sees the changes in Mia on a daily basis. He knows he is the reason Mia is now the way she is. Never given the chance to explain what really happened that night so long ago, Mac is determined to make Mia finally listen and reclaim what was always his.

When the truth finally comes out, danger shows its ugly face. There are people in Jaded Hollow that do not want Mac and Mia together. They are willing to do what ever it takes to keep them apart.

Will Mac be strong enough to overcome temptation, even when the odds are against him? Will Mia forgive Mac when she realizes things weren’t what they seemed ten years ago?

Review

I loved this book. It was simply amazing. Mia and Mac went though so much, Alex really knows how to show pain in her characters, and really brings them to life. I cried both happy and sad tears for these characters and when the book was over I didn't want the story to end. I fell in love with all the people in Jaded Hollow and I cannot wait for the next installment in the Jaded Series so that I can be in their lives once again.

Review

This was a great romance with an underlying story of one mans struggle to find himself and the little girl and wonderfully strong woman who helped him get there. I loved this book, it was definitely different than what you normally find in romance novels.

Romancing Austin: Consortium

Blurb

Record exec Holt Michaelson married the enigmatic Chloe to keep his assets safe from a vindictive competitor, but after a fiery encounter with his new wife, he's determined to claim her as his own, body and soul.

Review

I read Consortium by Riley Bancroft. It was an amazing short story, a little kink mixed with hard to come by love. I enjoyed reading this story and will definitely be reading the rest of this book.

*Consortium is only one of seven stories in this anthology.

Protecting Cheyenne

Blurb

Living in Southern California, Cheyenne was used to seeing hot military men as she went about her daily business. An anonymous encounter at the grocery store cemented her crush on one such man. He was big, built, and incredibly easy on the eyes, but it wasn't as if he would ever really notice her.

Always in control of any situation, Faulkner “Dude” Cooper knows explosives. As a bomb expert, he's lived through many high pressure situations. Disfigured by a bomb while on a mission, he's used to being looked at with pity. When he's called to a local supermarket to assist the local PD, the last thing he expects to find is a generous act of kindness performed by a beautiful, amazing woman. Enchanted by her selflessness in the face of danger and intrigued by her actions to save civilians she didn't know, Dude’s hooked.

Dude was able to save Cheyenne from the group of thugs trying to take her life, but when the past comes back to haunt them both, sometimes having the knowledge and the desire isn't enough to beat the countdown of the clock.

Review

Susan Stoker has done it again! This book was just as amazing as the rest in this series while giving the characters their own story. No two books in this series are the same. I love this group of SEALS and cannot wait for Benny's and Tex's stories as well. If you have not read this series I recommend that you do. While these are stand alone books, PLEASE, start from book one, Protecting Caroline, so that you can fall in love with these men too.

Review

This was an amazing SEALS book. I love this genre and this book definitely fits right in with some of the best. I enjoy finding new authors to read from and am glad that I came across Kimberly. I will definitely be reading her other books in the future. I hope you read this and fall in love with the characters as much as I did.

Review

This was an interesting twist on a modern day fairytale. While I feel that it was a bit short for everything that happened, it was a sweet story. I'm glad I got the chance to read it.
